Asian ADRs Move Lower in Monday's Trading Session

American depository receipts of Asian stocks declined 0.43% to 128.67 Monday morning on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index.

In North Asia, the gainers were led by China-based fabless semiconductor company Actions Semiconductor ( ACTS ), which was up 3.2% in trading today, followed by Taiwanese manufacturer of thin film transistor liquid crystal displays AU Optronics ( AUO ), which rose 1.9%.Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company Himax Technologies ( HIMX ), and Japanese internet service provider Internet Initiative Japan ( IIJI ), rose 1.9% each.

The decliners in North Asia were led by Chinese search engine Baidu (BIDU,) which shed 3.7%, followed by Korean steel producer POSCO ( PKX ), which lost 3.1%. Beijing-based 21 Vianet (VNET), a carrier-neutral Internet data center services provider, fell 3%, as Chinese social platform YY Inc. (YY) declined 2.3%.

In South Asia, the gainers were led by Indonesian telecommunications company Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK), which rose 3.4%, followed by Indian financial services firm ICICI Bank (IBN), which moved 1.7% higher. Pharmaceutical firm Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY) increased 1.2%, while Philippine Long Distance Telephone (TLK) also gained 1.2%. The only major decliner in the South Asia region was Indian natural resources company Vedanta, which was down 1.8%.
