American depositary receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.77% lower at 181.80 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Monday.
In North Asia, the gainers were led by online consumer finance marketplace PPDAI ( PPDF ), and consumer lending company Hexindai ( HX ), which rose 4.8% and 3.5% respectively. They were followed by Kingtone Wirelessinfo Solution ( KONE ), a provider of mobile enterprise solutions, and China Finance Online ( JRJC ), a which were up 3.0% and 2.7%.
The decliners in North Asia were led by China Digital TV Holding (STVVY), a provider of conditional access TV in China, and polysilicon manufacturer Daqo New Energy Corp ( DQ ), which fell 7.2% and 5.7% respectively. They were followed by educational services provider Bright Scholar (BEDU), and wealth management firm Noah Holdings (NOAH), which were off 4.1% and 2.1%.
In South Asia, the gainers were led by IT companies Wipro (WIT), and Infosys (INFY), which rose 0.9% and 0.5% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications provider PLDT (PHI), which edged 0.1% higher.
Automaker Tata Motors (TTM) led the decliners in South Asia, falling 2.9%, followed by HDFC Bank (HDB), which dropped 1.6%. ICICI Bank (IBN), and natural resources company Vedanta (VEDL) were down 1.1% and 0.7% respectively.
