American depositary receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.46% lower at 156.50 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Friday.
In North Asia, the gainers were led by airline operators China Southern Airlines ( ZNH ) and China Eastern Airlines ( CEA ), which rose 4.9% and 4.4% respectively. They were followed by educational services provider OneSmart ( ONE ) and fabless semiconductor company Himax Technologies ( HIMX ), which were up 3.5% and 3.4%.
The decliners in North Asia were led by Autohome ( ATHM ), a website for automobile consumers in China, and social media platform Weibo Corporation (WB), which lost 9% and 4.5% respectively. They were followed by real estate internet portal Fang Holdings (SFUN) and telecommunications operator SK Telecom (SKM), which dropped 3.1% and 2.8%.
In South Asia, the gainers were led by IT company Infosys (INFY) and WNS Holdings (WNS), a provider of business process management services, which rose 5.2% and 1% respectively. They were followed by digital entertainment company Sea Limited (SE) and mining company Vedanta (VEDL), which were up 0.6% and 0.5%.
Automaker Tata Motors (TTM) led the decliners in South Asia, falling 3.6%, followed by biotech firm ASLAN (ASLN), telecommunications operator PLDT (PHI), and ICICI Bank (IBN), which lost 2.1%, 1.5%, and 0.5% respectively.
