Asian ADRs Move Lower in Friday Trading

American depository receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.51% lower at 146.27 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Friday.

In North Asia, the gainers were led by life insurance provider China Life Insurance ( LFC ) and railroad operator Guangshen Railway ( GSH ), which rose 2.6% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by casino and resort operator Melco Crown Entertainment ( MPEL ) and e-commerce solutions company Baozun ( BZUN ), which were up 1.6% and 1.3%, respectively.

The decliners in North Asia were led by Wowo Ltd. ( JMU ), an online platform providing B2B services to the food industry, which shed 8.4%, followed by Leju Holdings (LEJU), a real estate services provider in China, which dropped 4%. Solar park operator Sky Solar Holdings Ltd. (SKYS) and travel company Tuniu Corp (TOUR) lost 2.7% and 2.6%, respectively.

In South Asia, the only gainer was direct-to-home video provider Videocon d2h (VDTH), which rose 0.6%.

Indonesian telecommunications company Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) led the decliners in South Asia, falling 2.6%, followed by India-based automobile manufacturer Tata Motors (TTM), which lost 1.8%. HDFC Bank HDB and WNS Holdings (WNS), a provider of business process management services, each fell 0.6%,
