American depository receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.40% higher at 177.75 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Wednesday.
In North Asia, the gainers were led by 21Vianet ( VNET ), and financial platform Jianpu ( JT ), which rose 5% and 4.5% respectively. They were followed by KB Financial Group ( KB ), up 4%, and airline operator China Eastern Airlines ( CEA ), up 3.8%.
The decliners in North Asia were led by online retailer LightInTheBox ( LITB ), and Korean steel maker Ossen Innovation (OSN), which fell 4.2% and 4.1% respectively. They were followed by marketing and branding company Acorn (ATV), down 3%, and securities brokerage China Finance Online (JRJC), down 2.8%.
In South Asia, the gainers were led by telecommunications provider PLDT (PHI), which rose 1.6%. PLDT was followed by IT company SIFY Technologies (SIFY), telecommunications firm Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK), and pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), each of which increased 1.3%.
Natural resources company Vedanta (VEDL) led the decliners in South Asia, falling 3%, followed by ICICI Bank (IBN), which lost 2%. Digital entertainment company Sea Limited (SE), and HDFC Bank (HDB) were off 1.6% and 0.9% respectively.
