Asian ADRs Move Higher in Tuesday Trading

American depository receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.65% higher at 153.42 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Tuesday.

In North Asia, the gainers were led by Chinese online discount retailer Vipshop ( VIPS ), and Baozun ( BZUN ), a brand e-commerce solutions company, which climbed 6.7% and 6.4% respectively. They were followed by fabless semiconductor company Himax Technologies ( HIMX ), up 6.2%, and social media platform Weibo Corporation ( WB ), higher 6%.

The decliners in North Asia were led by Semiconductor Manufacturing International ( SMI ), and online game developer The9 (NCTY), which fell 4.3% and 3.8% respectively. They were followed by solar equipment provider SPI Energy (SPI), down 3%, and educational services firm TAL Education (XRS), off 2.1%.

In South Asia, the gainers were led by IT services firm SIFY Technologies (SIFY), higher 2.1%, and HDFC Bank (HDB), up 1.9%. They were followed by IT company Infosys (INFY), and natural resources firm Vedanta (VEDL), which moved 1.8% and 1.7% higher respectively.

Philippines telecommunications provider PLDT (PHI) led the decliners in South Asia, falling 0.7%, followed by Indonesian telecommunications firm Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK), and IT services firm Wipro (WIT), which lost 0.6% and 0.3% respectively.
