Asian ADRs Move Higher in Thursday Trading

American depository receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.77% higher at 147.72 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Thursday.

In North Asia, the gainers were led by ReneSola ( SOL ), a provider of energy-efficient products, and Japanese financial services firm Nomura ( NMR ), which gained 3.9% and 3.2% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications service provider KT ( KT ), up 2.1%, and mobile telecommunications carrier NTT DoCoMo ( DCM ), up 2%.

The decliners in North Asia were led by Baozun ( BZUN ), a brand e-commerce solutions company, and semiconductor company Semiconductor Manufacturing International (SMI), which shed 6.6% and 5.5% respectively. They were followed by airline operator China Eastern Airlines (CEA), down 2.3%, and life insurance provider China Life Insurance (LFC), off 2.1%.

In South Asia, the gainers were led by automobile manufacturer Tata Motors (TTM), and natural resources company Vedanta (VEDL), which rose 3.3% and 3.1%, respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY), higher 2.1%, and Indonesian telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK), up 1.7%.

IT services firm SIFY Technologies (SIFY), and WNS Holdings (WNS), a provider of business process management services, were the only decliners in South Asia, falling 3.3% and 0.3% respectively.
