American depositary receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.36% higher at 149.79 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Friday.
In North Asia, the gainers were led by China Techfaith Wireless Communication ( CNTF ) and B2B platform JMU Limited ( JMU ), which surged 13.7% and 11.6% respectively. They were followed by online consumer finance marketplace PPDAI ( PPDF ) and conditional access TV provider China Digital TV Holding ( STVVY ), which climbed 6.9% and 4%.
The decliners in North Asia were led by used car ecommerce platform Uxin ( UXIN ) and educational services provider China Online Education (COE), which fell 16.4% and 5.3% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company China Petroleum & Chemical (SNP) and Woori Bank (WF), which lost 4.9% and 4.5%.
In South Asia, the gainers were led by IT company SIFY Technologies (SIFY) and ICICI Bank (IBN), which rose 6.6% and 1.5% respectively. They were followed by mining company Vedanta (VEDL) and automaker Tata Motors (TTM), which were up 1.1% and 0.4%.
Digital entertainment company Sea Limited (SE) and WNS Holdings (WNS), a provider of business process management services, were the only decliners in South Asia falling 1.5% and 1.4% respectively.
