Asian ADRs Advance as Telecommunication Stocks Rally

American depository receipts of Asian stocks were trading 1.1% higher at 137.10 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Tuesday morning.

Gainers in north Asia were led by AU Optronics ( AUO ), a Taiwanese producer of photovoltaic modules and liquid crystal displays, 7.0% higher, followed by China Unicom ( CHU ), a telecommunications services provider, 4.2% higher, and Bitauto ( BITA ), a provider of internet content and marketing services, up by 3.7%.

In southern Asia, business process management company WNS ( WNS ) was 4.0% higher, followed by car-maker Tata Motors ( TTM ), 3.0% higher, and telecommunication company Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PHI), up by 2.8%.

Decliners in north Asia were led by financial services provider Mitzui Financial (MFG), 1.5% lower, followed by Aluminium Corporation of China (ACH), a producer of aluminum, down by 1.1% and Himax Technologies (HIMX), a semiconductor solution provider, 0.8% lower.

And, in southern Asia, MOL (MOLG), a Malaysian e-payment solutions provider, was down by 3.2%.
