Stock markets across the Asia-Pacific region closed mixed on Thursday as investors remain cautious ahead of U.S.-China trade talks, with latest news suggesting President Trump is considering whether to extend the deadline for a trade deal. The Shanghai Composite index finished 0.1% lower at 2,720 despite stronger than expected Chinese trade data for January; the Hang Seng index lost 0.2% to 28,415; and the S&P/ASX 200 fell 0.1% to 6,059; while the Nikkei 225 ended near the flat line even after latest data showed a rebound in GDP during Q4; and the Kospi jumped 1.1% to 2,226.
