Asia ADRs Gain, Led By Solar, Internet Stocks

Depository receipts of Asian stocks were up 0.32% at 151.33 in mid-morning U.S. trading on Monday, according to the BNY Mellon's Asia ADR Index.

Asian makers of solar power modules were higher, including ReneSola ( SOL ) up 5.3%, Trina Solar ( TSL ) up 3.4%, JinkoSolar ( JKS ) +1.5% and Yingli Green Energy ( YGE ) up 2.4%. Yingli Green earlier said its Spain unit will supply 31.6 megawatt of solar power modules to a Gestamp Solar power plant in Japan while JinkoSolar is investing in a solar-module factory in Cape Town.

Internet companies also gained, with Chinese internet TV company Youku Tudou ( YOKU ) adding 2.9%, online direct sales firm JD.Com (JD) gaining 0.6%, Chinese real estate internet portal SouFun (SFUN), higher 2.8%, internet security provider Qihoo 360 Technology (QIHU), up 2.1% and Baidu (BIDU), up 1.4%. Mobile internet services firm NQ Mobile (NQ) added 4.4%.

Other gainers included Tata Motors (TTM), up 6.8% and Infosys (INFY), up 0.7%.

Losers included online sports lottery service provider 500.com (WBAI), down 3.5, even after it reported a sharp increase in Q2 earnings, Casino operator Melco Crown Entertainment (MPEL), down 0.4%, and Sony Corp (SNE), down 0.3%.
