University of Phoenix, a subsidiary of Apollo Education Group, Inc.APOL , recently inaugurated the Center of Research Excellence (CORE) in Washington, D.C. CORE will be headed by Department of Justice veteran Mark Logan, who will serve as the assistant dean.
CORE will provide students of University of Phoenix's College of Security and Criminal Justice with career-oriented education in the fields of security, criminal justice and technology. It will research on current trends and produce high-quality scholarly materials. The institute will also work in partnership with other industry associations, so that CORE can better understand security needs of these companies.
Rising criminal activities and digital crime have created the need for an equally capable security force, with the ability to understand as well as prevent them. CORE also aims to work on providing updated information for programs provided by University of Phoenix's College of Security and Criminal Justice.
The programs will train students to acquire relevant skill sets for security fields, and train them as highly skilled security experts. They are expected to produce strong student outcome, considering strong market demand for expert security personnel. As such, strong demand for such career-oriented programs should improve enrollment trends and driving revenue at Apollo Education Group as well.
