Anheuser Busch Inbev SA (ADR) ( BUD ) is renaming its "Budweiser" to "America" for the summer.
The new ad campaign will have the text "America" replacing "Budweiser" on the company's 12-oz. cans and bottles of the beverage. The summer changes will also include text from some of America's most patriotic songs and documents on labels.
The "America is in Your Hands" ad campaign is also designed to serve as a reminder to Americans of the "optimism upon which the country was first built." The new cans will start showing up in commercials on June 1 . The drink will continue to have America labels until November.
16-oz. and 25-oz. cans, as well as 16-oz. aluminum bottles of Budweiser are also getting updated for the summer. They will feature a close up image of Statue of Liberty's torch to inspire the company's Team Budweiser Olympic and Paralympic candidates.
