Alaska Air GroupALK , is the holding company of Alaska Airlines, which, together with its partner regional airlines, serves more than 100 cities through North America. The company is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.

Earnings : Alaska Air Group reported earnings (on an adjusted basis) of $1.45 per share in the first quarter of 2016 beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.42. Earnings increased 29% compared to the first quarter of 2015.

Revenue : Revenues came in at $1.35 billion, edging past the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.34 billion. The top line grew 6% on a year-over-year basis.

Key stats : The company repurchased 1.7 million shares for $127 million in the first quarter of 2016. The carrier shelled out a quarterly cash dividend worth $0.275 per-share in the first quarter, up 38% year over year. The carrier exited the quarter with $1.6 billion in unrestricted cash and marketable securities.
