Air ProductsAPD will exhibit the power of liquid nitrogen for a range of food processing applications at Northwest Food & Beverage World 2017 in Portland, OR, from Jan 9-11. In order to discover the many traditional and innovative ways, Air Products is helping customers utilize liquid nitrogen to help remove heat from their processes and enhance the quality, throughput and shelf life of their food products.

Apart from freezing and chilling, liquid nitrogen is also utilized in mixing applications to instantly stop the cooking process to chill sauces and gravies, cutting cooling time. The low temperature of liquid nitrogen offers greater control of the enrobing process in coating applications. During grinding, liquid nitrogen can be used to remove frictional heat to help enhance the throughput of mills and the consistency of the grind. This helps in preventing the loss of flavor and aroma components in food additives, ingredients and functional foods.

Air Products being a recognized leader in cryogenic technology applications, has been providing high-purity gases, equipment and technologies to the food industry for more than five decades. The company's portfolio has solutions for every type of customer, from large manufacturers with multiple product lines to small food processors with a niche product. The company offers its industrial gases in a range of delivery options to match each customer's needs, from low- to high-volume users.
