ATHENS, Feb 25 () - The board of Greece's largest carrier Aegean Airlines has decided to proceed with a bond issue to raise 150-200 million euros ($170-227 million), it said on Monday.
Aegean, a member of the Star Alliance airline group, last year picked Airbus for an order of 42 aircraft worth $5 billion to renew its fleet of single-aisle planes and add capacity for future expansion.
The bond issue will need the green light by the securities regulator and will be listed on the Athens stock exchange.
