Adira Energy Higher After Appointing Former Israel Government Official as New CEO

Adira Energy Ltd. (ADL.V) is up $0.02 to $0.47 a share this morning after the offshore oil and gas company selected Hezi Kugler to be chief executive officer.

Kugler joins Adira from a solar energy start-up he launched following a stint as director general of the Israeli Ministry of National Infrastructures between 2006 to 2009. He also was preveiously a partner in a Herzliya, Israel, law firm.

The infrastructure ministry monitors Israel's energy and water sectors, with oversight of the country's Natural Gas Authority, the Israel Electric Corp and the Petroleum and Energy Infrastructures Ltd. Adira holds four exploration licenses in Israeli coastal waters.
