Accenture Plc on the Rise After Bang-Bang Q2

Accenture Plc ( ACN ), a management consulting services company, saw its stock rise Thursday following a strong second quarter for fiscal 2016.

Accenture reported earnings per share of $1.34 , when excluding the 74-cent gain from the sale of Navitaire. This is up 24% from the $1.08 that it reported in Q2 2015. Analysts were expecting EPS of $1.18 for the quarter.

Revenue reported by Accenture for Q2 2016 was $7.9 billion. This is an increase over the $7.5 billion that it reported during the same time last year. Wall Street was expecting the company to report revenue of $7.7 billion.

Accenture said that it now expects revenue for 2016 to increase by 8% to 10% instead of the previous 6% to 9%. It also raised EPS expectations to between $5.21 and $5.32 from $5.09 and $5.24.

ACN shares were up 4% as of Noon Thursday.
