Wednesday's ETF with Unusual Volume: COMT

The iShares Commodities Select Strategy ETF ( COMT ) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 1.4 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 103,000. Shares of COMT were down about 1.1% on the day.

Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Chesapeake Energy ( CHK ), trading off about 6% with over 26.8 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Encana ( ECA ), down about 4.1% on volume of over 12.3 million shares. Cosan ( CZZ ) is the component faring the best Wednesday, higher by about 2.9% on the day, while Whiting Petroleum ( WLL ) is lagging other components of the iShares Commodities Select Strategy ETF, trading lower by about 10.4%.
