Wednesday Sector Laggards: Gas Utilities, Electric Utilities

In trading on Wednesday, gas utilities shares were relative laggards, down on the day by about 1.8%. Helping drag down the group were shares of New Jersey Resources ( NJR ), down about 3.9% and shares of Southwest Gas Holdings ( SWX ) off about 3.6% on the day.

Also lagging the market Wednesday are electric utilities shares, down on the day by about 1.7% as a group, led down by Northwestern ( NWE ), trading lower by about 3.8% and MGE Energy ( MGEE ), trading lower by about 3.6%.
