U.S. stocks opened lower on Friday, as a batch of weak Chinese data raised concerns about global growth a day after the Federal Reserve hinted at gradual tightening of borrowing costs.

At 9:48 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.53 percent at 26,051.82. The S&P 500 was down 0.68 percent at 2,787.64 and the Nasdaq Composite was down 1.09 percent at 7,448.863.
