Turkish unemployment reaches highest level in nine years


ISTANBUL, March 15 (Reuters) - Turkey's unemployment rate rose to 13.5 percent in the November-January period, its highest level in nine years, data from the Turkish Statistics Institute showed on Friday.

Non-agricultural unemployment stood at 15.6 percent in the same period, the data showed.

In the October-December period, unemployment stood at 12.3 percent while non-agricultural unemployment was at 14.3 percent.
