TSX up 57 Points as Financials Stocks Gain; Commodities Down

The TSX is up 57 points this morning with financials stocks up 0.65%, helping to offset losses in miners (-1.95%). The Stars Group Inc. (TSGI.TO) has jumped 10.2% and hit fresh 52 week highs after it agreed to acquire Sky Betting & Gaming from CVC Capital Partners and Sky plc ( SKY ) In a cash and stock transaction valued at $4.7 billion. According to a statement, this combination will result in the world's largest publicly listed online gaming company. TSGI identified cost synergies of at least $70 million per year.

The industrials sector is the biggest gainer, up 0.97%,

Energy is up just 0.19%, but crude oil has dipped 1.65% to US$67.27.
