TSX opens higher on rising oil prices, inflation data

April 17 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index edged higher at open on Wednesday, as energy stocks got a lift from rising oil prices, while investors assessed March inflation data.

* At 9:30 a.m. ET (1330 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange'sS&P/TSX Composite index was up 20.75 points, or 0.13 percent, at 16,522.95.
