On October 10, the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce New York (SACCNY) organized the annual Innovate46 conference at the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square.

The full day conference gathered representatives from American and Scandinavian venture capital firms, researchers, cutting-edge companies and prolific startups to explore the importance of thriving, collaborative ecosystems and how bridges between small and big - Sweden and the U.S - can be built.

An important part of the day is the Anders Wall Award for Exceptional Entrepreneurship, where this year's award was given to Willem Sundblad. Born and raised in Stockholm, Sundblad is the CEO and Co-Founder of Oden Technologies , and was recently named as one of Forbes 30 Under 30 for his work in transforming the manufacturing industry.

Since its founding in 1906, SACCNY has been an important supporter of Swedish companies looking to expand in the US. The organization recently launched its Gateway Initiative together with Swedish innovation hub Epicenter. In addition to its state-of-the-art office, conference and event facilities in Manhattan, The Gateway program offers a range of services to Swedish entrepreneurs, including innovation labs, business matchmaking, acceleration programs, workshops, crash courses and master classes in corporate innovation.

"Both the Innovate46 conference and SACCNY does a fantastic job in promoting entrepreneurship and strengthening the commercial ties between Sweden and the US," said Adam Kostyál, SVP & Head of European Listings, Nasdaq. "As a financial technology innovator with our roots in both the Nordics and the US, we look forward to our continued partnership with SACCNY for many years to come."
