Nike (NKE) Gains But Lags Market: What You Should Know

Nike (NKE) closed the most recent trading day at $81.28, moving +1.32% from the previous trading session. This change lagged the S&P 500's 1.56% gain on the day. At the same time, the Dow added 1.77%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq gained 2.2%.

Prior to today's trading, shares of the athletic apparel maker had gained 8.2% over the past month. This has lagged the Consumer Discretionary sector's gain of 8.66% and outpaced the S&P 500's gain of 6.41% in that time.

Investors will be hoping for strength from NKE as it approaches its nex t earnings release, which is expected to be March 28, 2019.
