Monday Sector Laggards: Healthcare, Services

The worst performing sector as of midday Monday is the Healthcare sector, showing a 0.9% loss. Within that group, DaVita Inc (Symbol: DVA) and Express Scripts Holding Co (Symbol: ESRX) are two large stocks that are lagging, showing a loss of 8.6% and 4.6%, respectively. Among healthcare ETFs , one ETF following the sector is the Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (Symbol: XLV), which is down 0.6% on the day, and up 20.85% year-to-date. DaVita Inc, meanwhile, is down 14.83% year-to-date, and Express Scripts Holding Co, is down 13.50% year-to-date. Combined, DVA and ESRX make up approximately 1.4% of the underlying holdings of XLV.

The next worst performing sector is the Services sector, showing a 0.8% loss. Among large Services stocks, Viacom Inc (Symbol: VIAB) and CVS Health Corporation (Symbol: CVS) are the most notable, showing a loss of 6.0% and 3.1%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Services stocks is the iShares U.S. Consumer Services ETF ( IYC ), which is down 0.3% in midday trading, and up 10.43% on a year-to-date basis. Viacom Inc, meanwhile, is down 25.56% year-to-date, and CVS Health Corporation, is down 3.68% year-to-date. Combined, VIAB and CVS make up approximately 2.8% of the underlying holdings of IYC.
