Health Care Sector Update for 10/16/2018: REGN,SNY,PRPO,PSTI,JNJ

Health care stocks were posting strong gains Tuesday afternoon, including a more than 2.1% gain for the NYSE Health Care Index in recent trade. Also, shares of health care companies in the S&P 500 were up 2.1% as a group while the Nasdaq Biotechnology index was ahead more than 3.2%.

Among health care stocks moving on news:

(+) Regeneron ( REGN ) climbed 5% on Tuesday after the biopharmaceuticals firm and Sanofi ( SNY ) said their Dupixent treatment significantly reduced nasal polyp size, nasal congestion and the need for systemic corticosteroids.

In other sector news:

(+) Precipio ( PRPO ) was almost 9% higher after the the cancer diagnostics company said it was expecting a roughly 140% increase in its Q3 revenue over year-ago levels, rising to $648,000 from $270,000 last year.

(+) Johnson & Johnson ( JNJ ) was 1.6% higher, drifting off its high of the day after the health care giant beat analyst forecasts with its adjusted Q3 earnings of $2.05 per share.
