Health care stocks were moderately lower Friday afternoon, with the NYSE Health Care Index dropping about 0.3% while shares of health care companies in the S&P 500 also were down about 0.3% as a group.

In company news, Osiris Therapeutics ( OSIR ) declined after the regenerative medications company last night said it fired chief medical officer Jon Hopper on Tuesday, April 12 and began a search for a permanent replacement.

Hopper began at Osiris in November 2014, joining the company from Stryker Corp ( SYK ), where the trauma- and orthopedic-trained surgeon was the global medical director for over four years, advising on clinical risk management and product development.

During the search, Hopper's former responsibilities are being spread among the company's management team, including the director of regulatory affairs and its chief scientific officer.

OSIR shares recently were down over 3% at $6.33 each, earlier sinking to a session low of $6.28 a share.

(+) GBSN, (+79.9%) Reports a preliminary 59.4% rise in Q1 revenue over last year to $731,422, trailing the single analyst call expecting $1.31 mln. Also said its customer base grew by 119.8% to 222 revenue-generating customers.

(-) CLRB, (-31.2%) Prices $7 mln offering of 3.3 mln common stock or pre-funded warrants at $2.13 apiece, a 30% discount to Thursday's closing price. Investors also received five-year warrants ( CLRBZ ) exercisable at $3.04.
