Friday's ETF with Unusual Volume: MXI

The iShares Global Materials ETF ( MXI ) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Friday, with over 153,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 26,000. Shares of MXI were up about 0.8% on the day.

Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Friday were Gerdau ( GGB ), trading up about 4.2% with over 14.0 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Vale ( VALE ), up about 2.7% on volume of over 9.3 million shares. Newmont Mining ( NEM ) is lagging other components of the iShares Global Materials ETF Friday, trading lower by about 1.5%.
