Friday Sector Leaders: Industrial, Energy

The best performing sector as of midday Friday is the Industrial sector, higher by 0.4%. Within that group, TransDigm Group Inc (Symbol: TDG) and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (Symbol: NCLH) are two large stocks leading the way, showing a gain of 2.8% and 2.4%, respectively. Among industrial ETFs , one ETF following the sector is the Industrial Select Sector SPDR ETF (Symbol: XLI), which is up 0.2% on the day, and up 5.01% year-to-date. TransDigm Group Inc, meanwhile, is up 34.14% year-to-date, and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd is up 3.78% year-to-date. TDG makes up approximately 0.7% of the underlying holdings of XLI.

The next best performing sector is the Energy sector, higher by 0.4%. Among large Energy stocks, Cimarex Energy Co (Symbol: XEC) and Apache Corp (Symbol: APA) are the most notable, showing a gain of 2.6% and 2.4%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Energy stocks is the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF ( XLE ), which is up 0.4% in midday trading, and up 4.04% on a year-to-date basis. Cimarex Energy Co, meanwhile, is down 24.51% year-to-date, and Apache Corp is up 9.83% year-to-date. Combined, XEC and APA make up approximately 1.9% of the underlying holdings of XLE.
