European ADRs Move Lower in Wednesday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.32% lower at 139.31 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Wednesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical firm Oasmia Pharmaceutical ( OASM ), which surged 18.8%, followed by telecommunications provider Telecom Italia ( TI ), 3D printer maker voxeljet ( VJET ), and bitoech company argenx ( ARGX ), which rose 3.4%, 2.3%, and 1.5% respectively.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by semiconductor company STMicroelectronics ( STM ), and cell therapy company TiGenix (TIG), which fell 7.3% and 6.1% respectively. They were followed by hotel booking site Trivago (TRVG), and online dating site operator Spark Networks (LOV), which dropped 4.2% and 4%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies NuCana (NCNA) and Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which rose 9.5% and 2.9% respectively. They were followed by airline operator Ryanair (RYAAY), and publishing company Pearson (PSO), which were up 1.4% and 1%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by insurance company Prudential (PUK), and biopharmaceutical firm Verona Pharma (VRNA), which lost 2.4% and 1.4% respectively. They were followed by communications group WPP (WPP), and Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which were off 1.3% and 1.2%.
