European ADRs Move Lower in Friday Trading

American Depositary Receipts of European stocks were trading 0.66% lower at 134.93 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Friday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Oasmia Pharmaceutical ( OASM ), which surged 11.4%, followed by communications services provider VEON ( VEON ), biopharmaceutical company Forward Pharma ( FWP ), and semiconductor company STMicroelectronics ( STM ), which were up 0.7% each.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by telecommunications provider Telecom Italia ( TI ), and marketing firm Criteo (CRTO), which fell 4.1% and 2.1% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS), and oil and gas company Eni (E ), which were off 2.1% and 1.7%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical firm Midatech Pharma (MTP), which jumped 18.8%, followed by pharmaceutical company Avadel (AVDL), which climbed 3.5%. Gene therapy company Nightstar (NITE), and biopharmaceutical firm Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP) were up 2.3% and 2.2%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by Trinity Biotech (TRIB), and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca (AZN), which dropped 3.8% and 1.7% respectively. They were followed by Barclays Bank (BCS), and oil company BP (BP), which were off 1.6% and 1.5%.
