European ADRs Move Lower in Friday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.10% lower at 133.24 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Friday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by online dating site operator Spark Networks ( LOV ), which rose 6.8%, followed by biopharmaceutical firms argenx ( ARGX ), DBV Technologies ( DBVT ), and Biofrontera ( BFRA ), which rose 7.3%, 2.9%, and 2.1% respectively.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by biotech company Forward Pharma ( FWP ), and telecommunications provider Telecom Italia (TI), which fell 3.1% and 2.6% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical firm Oasmia Pharmaceutical (OASM), and geophysical equipment company CGG (CGG), which were down 2.4% and 4.1%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma (VRNA), and biotech firm Shire (SHPG), which rose 5.1% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by cruise line operator Carnival (CUK), and mining company Rio Tinto (RIO), which were up 0.9% each.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company NuCana (NCNA), and Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which lost 2.8% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Amarin (AMRN), and Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), which were off 2.9% and 2.1%.
