European ADRs Move Higher in Wednesday Trading

American Depository Receipts of European stocks were trading 0.19% higher at 129.64 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Wednesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ), and bank Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria ( BBVA ), which rose 2.6% each. They were followed by telecommunication services company VEON ( VEON ), and bio tech firm Forward Pharma ( FWP ), which were up 2% and 1.4%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by pharmaceutical company Oasmia Pharmaceutical ( OASM ), and furniture maker Natuzzi (NTZ), which fell 3% and 2.7% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical firm MorphoSys (MOR), and semiconductor company STMicroelectronics (STM), which were off 2% and 1.9%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by specialty pharmaceuticals company Midatech Pharma (MTP), which soared 82.5%, followed by biopharmaceutical companies GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH), Amarin (AMRN), and Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which climbed 14.4%, 5.5%, and 3.5% respectively.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by consumer goods company Unilever (UL), and educational media company Pearson (PSO), which lost 3% and 2.9% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications operator BT Group (BT), and airline operator Ryanair (RYAAY), which dropped 1.2% and 1.1%.
