European ADRs Move Higher in Wednesday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.85% higher at 136.21 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Wednesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Biofrontera ( BFRA ), and furniture maker Natuzzi ( NTZ ), which rose 12.1% and 3.5% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company STMicroelectronics ( STM ), and biopharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ), which were up 3.4% and 2.8%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical firm Forward Pharma ( FWP ), and software company Talend (TLND), which fell 5.2% and 1.9% respectively. They were followed by 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS), and communications services provider VEON Com (VEON), which were down 0.7% and 0.4%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Amarin (AMRN), and pharmaceutical firm Avadel (AVDL), which climbed 5.0% and 3.1% respectively. They were followed by mining company BHP Billiton (BBL), and oil company BP (BP), which were up 2.4% and 2.2%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), and biotech firm Shire (SHPG), which lost 2.2% and 0.7% respectively. They were followed by electricity and gas utility National Grid (NGG), and Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which were off 0.6% and 0.2%.
