European ADRs Move Higher in Wednesday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.09% higher at 141.82 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Wednesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by hotel booking site Trivago ( TRVG ), up 3.8%, followed by gene therapy Cellectis ( CLLS ), and Deutsche Bank ( DB ), which climbed 2.1% and 1.6%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by telecommunications provider Telecom Italia ( TI ), and semiconductor company STMicroelectronics ( STM ), which were down 3.5% and 1.1% respectively. They were followed by brewing company AB InBev (BUD), and pharmaceutical firm Sanofi (SNY), which lost 0.9% and 0.7%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by gene therapy company Nightstar (NITE), and biopharmaceutical firm Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which rose 6.9% and 4.5% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH), and mining company Randgold Resources (GOLD), which were up 2.3% and 2.0%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical firms NuCana (NCNA) and Midatech Pharma (MTP), which dropped 13.5% and 5.1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma (VRNA), and airline operator Ryanair (RYAAY), which lost 3.7% and 2.3%.
