European ADRs Move Higher in Thursday Trading

American Depository Receipts of European stocks were 0.34% higher at 125.37 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Thursday.

In continental Europe, gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies MorphoSys ( MOR ), and Cellectis ( CLLS ), which climbed 10.6% and 5% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications operator Telecom Italia ( TI ), and software firm Talend ( TLND ), which rose 4.4% and 4%.

Decliners in continental Europe were led by network infrastructure provider Nokia ( NOK ), and Deutsche Bank (DB), which fell 4.8% and 4.5% respectively. They were followed by financial services firm Credit Suisse (CS), and bank Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), which were down 2.7% and 2.3%.

In the UK and Ireland, gainers were led by alcoholic beverages company Diageo (DEO), and biopharmaceutical company Amarin (AMRN), which rose 5% and 4.7% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell (RDS-A), and Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which were up 4.5% and 3.3%.

Decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by Trinity Biotech (TRIB), and biopharmaceutical firm Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), which lost 4.7% and 3% respectively. They were followed by Barclays Bank (BCS), and telecommunications provider BT Group (BT), which fell 2.4% and 1.6%.
