European ADRs Move Higher in Thursday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.42% higher at 131.01 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Thursday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by 3D printing company Materialise ( MTLS ) and biotech firm Forward Pharma ( FWP ), which rose 4.7% and 4.6% respectively. They were followed by 3D printer company voxeljet ( VJET ) and life insurance firm Aegon ( AEG ), which were up 2.2% and 1.8%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ), and furniture maker Natuzzi (NTZ), which fell 1.9% and 1.7% respectively. They were followed by Deutsche Bank (DB) and biopharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma (ASND), which were off 1.2% and 0.8%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), which jumped 29.8%, followed by insurance company Prudential (PUK), which rose 2.3%. Analytics and information provider RELX PLC (RELX) and airline operator Ryanair (RYAAY) were up 1.5% each.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by specialty pharmaceuticals company Midatech Pharma (MTP) and Motif Bio (MTFB), which lost 7.1% and 4.7% respectively. They were followed by software firm Endava (DAVA) and mining company BHP Billiton (BBL), which dropped 3% and 1.1%.
