European ADRs Move Higher in Monday Trading

American Depositary Receipts of European stocks were trading 0.15% higher at 139.12 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Monday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Oasmia Pharmaceutical ( OASM ), which jumped 39.3%, followed by fellow pharmaceutical firm Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ), which was up 1.9%. Financial services firm Credit Suisse ( CS ), and bank Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria ( BBVA )were up 1.2% and 0.8%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by semiconductor company STMicroelectronics ( STM ), and medical equipment and technology company Koninklijke Philips Electronics (PHG), which fell 2% and 1.7% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical firm DBV Technologies (DBVT), and biotech company Zealand Pharma (ZEAL), which were down 1.4% and 1.3%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by Midatech Pharma (MTP), which surged 21.9%, followed by communications group WPP (WPP), which was up 2.4%. Telecommunications provider BT Group (BT), and bank HSBC (HSBC) rose 1.1% and 0.8% respectively.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by airline operator Ryanair (RYAAY), and biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which lost 5.9% and 3.5% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical firm GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), and mining company Randgold Resources (GOLD), which shed 2% and 1.8%.
