European ADRs Move Higher in Monday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 1.80% higher at 1,058.47 on the BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Monday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company ERYTECH Pharma ( ERYP ), which rose 4.2%, followed by biotech firm Zealand Pharma ( ZEAL ) and biopharmaceutical companies Cellectis ( CLLS ) and Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ), each of which were up 1.6% each.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by internet browser company Opera ( OPRA ) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS), which lost 8.2% and 2.7% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor manufacturing company STMicroelectronics (STM) and telecommunications company VEON (VEON), which were off 1.5% and 1.3%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Avadel (AVDL) and biopharmaceutical firm Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), which rose 3.9% each. They were followed by software firm Endava (DAVA) and specialty pharmaceutical company Motif Bio (MTFB), which were off 2.5% and 2.4%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by Trinity Biotech (TRIB) and airline operator Ryanair (RYAAY), which fell 1.7% each. They were followed by biopharmaceutical firm Verona Pharma (VRNA) and Barclays Bank (BCS), which dropped 1.6% and 1.1% respectively.
