Energy Sector Update for 01/15/2019: XOM, ENLC, CVX, COP, SLB, OXY

Pre-market Tuesday saw mostly higher energy stocks. West Texas Intermediate crude oil for February delivery was up by $1.01 to $51.52 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. The global benchmark Brent crude March contract gained $1.09 to $60.08 per barrel and February natural gas futures were 4 cents lower at $3.55 per 1 million BTU.

In other sector news:

(+) Exxon Mobil ( XOM ), was slightly higher after Reuters wrote that the company shut the large Pipestill 8 crude distillation unit (CDU) at its 560,500 barrel-per-day (bpd) refinery in Baytown, Texas, for scheduled maintenance.

(=) EnLink Midstream ( ENLC ) was unchanged as its the board approved a cash dividend of $0.275 per common unit, reflecting approximately 1.5% growth over the declared distribution for the previous quarter.
