• Tribune Publishing Company's ( TPUB ) shares jumped 22.8% after competitor Gannett Co., Inc. ( GCI ) raised its bid to acquire Tribune from $12.5 a share to $15 per share in cash

• Shares of Memorial Resource Development Corp. ( MRD ) increased 3.1% after Range Resources ( RRC ) decided to acquire the company in an all-stock deal of $3.3 billion or $15.75 per share

• Terex Corporation's ( TEX ) shares surged 10% after the company decided to sell its Material Handling and Port Solutions unit for $1.27 billion to Konecranes Plc 

• Shares of Williams Companies, Inc. ( WMB ) increased 6.4% after the company filed a suit against Energy Transfer Equity LP ( ETE ) to ensure that their merger remains on track
