Brookfield Asset Management Inc. Q2 adjusted earnings Beat Estimates

(RTTNews.com) - Brookfield Asset Management Inc. ( BAM ) reported a profit for its second quarter that advanced from last year.

The company's bottom line totaled $608 million, or $0.62 per share. This compares with $190 million, or $0.19 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Excluding items, Brookfield Asset Management Inc. reported adjusted earnings of $0.79 billion or $0.77 per share for the period.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.04	 per share, according to 

figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 40.7% to $13.28 billion from $9.44 billion last year.
