Asian ADRs Move Lower in Friday Trading

American depositary receipts of Asian stocks were trading 1.09% lower at 160.43 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Friday.

In North Asia, the gainers included IT company ChinaCache ( CCIH ), which rose 1.7%. It was followed by Semiconductor Manufacturing International ( SMI ) and telecommunications reseller Chunghwa Telecom ( CHT ), which were up 0.6 % and 0.4%.

The decliners in North Asia were led by B2B platform JMU Limited ( JMU ), and Huya ( HUYA ), which shed 10.4% and 8.2% respectively. They were followed by financial services company China Finance Online (JRJC) and used car ecommerce platform Uxin (UXIN), which were down 7.6% and 6.6%.

In South Asia, the gainers were led by ICICI Bank (IBN), which rose 1.1%, followed by HDFC Bank (HDB) and telecommunications operator PLDT (PHI), which were up 0.9% and 0.7% respectively.

Automaker Tata Motors (TTM) led the decliners in South Asia, falling 3.8%, followed by IT company SIFY Technologies (SIFY), which lost 1.9%. Digital entertainment company Sea Limited (SE) and telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) were down 1.8% and 1.4% respectively.
