Asian ADRs Move Higher in Wednesday Trading

American depositary receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.46% higher at 184.64 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Wednesday.

In North Asia, the gainers were led by internet data center services provider 21Vianet ( VNET ), which surged 16.9%, followed by media company Phoenix New Media ( FENG ), and financial services firm Fanhua ( FANH ), which climbed 9.9% and 7.2% respectively. E-commerce company Vipshop ( VIPS ) was up 4.8%.

The decliners in North Asia were led by RYB Education ( RYB ), a provider of preschool education in China, and online video platform iQIYI (IQ), which fell 6.6% and 3.8% respectively. They were followed by educational services provider Four Seasons (FEDU), and wearable device maker Huami (HMI), which lost 2.9% and 2.3%.

In South Asia, the gainers were led by digital entertainment company Sea Limited (SE), and telecommunications provider Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK), which rose 9.2% and 3.2% respectively. They were followed by automaker Tata Motors (TTM), and natural resources company Vedanta (VEDL), which were up 1.5% and 1%.

Telecommunications provider PLDT (PHI) led the decliners in South Asia, falling 3%, followed by HDFC Bank (HDB), and ICICI Bank (IBN), which were off 0.8% and 0.7% respectively.
