Winners of the Junior Achievement of New York Business Plan Competition to Ring the NASDAQ Stock Market Closing Bell
ADVISORY, June 3, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
What:
Junior Achievement of New York (JA New York) Business Plan Competition student finalists squared-off in the final round of the competition last week at NASDAQ OMX MarketSite in New York City's Times Square.
In honor of the occasion, "Infinity," the winning student team from W.T. Clarke High School, Long Island, will ring the NASDAQ Closing Bell. They will be joined by JA New York representatives. Infinity's business plan introduced a new material to the hosiery industry.
The third annual JA New York Business Plan Competition program kicked-off in early spring 2010 with six weeks of a business education program that encouraged students to work collaboratively to develop and present a competitive and winning business plan. Students were encouraged to identify a need in the marketplace and present a sound business concept to address this need. More than 700 NYC and Long Island students competed. The competition moved through a series of lightening competition rounds, with the exciting, final show-down taking place at NASDAQ MarketSite.
JA New York is a NASDAQ OMX Educational Foundation partner.
