About Operation Backpack®:

Operation Backpack® is an annual Volunteers of America campaign that provides thousands of children living in NYC's homeless and domestic violence shelters with new backpacks and school supplies. It is sponsored by more than 140 corporations. The public also participates by dropping off supplies at any Duane Reade, which FedEx then delivers to Sort Week. In addition to FedEx and Duane Reade, sponsors also include Frank Crystal & Company, The Warnaco Foundation, Weeks Lerman, News Corporation, Time Warner Cable, The Wendy's Company and Van Wagner.
