About VABC

Voices Against Brain Cancer (VABC) was founded in 2005 by the Lichtenstein Family after losing their son and brother, Gary, from brain cancer only seven months after his diagnosis. VABC's mission is to find a cure for brain cancer and brain tumors by advancing scientific research, increasing awareness within the medical community and supporting patients, their families and caregivers afflicted with these devastating diseases. Since its inception, VABC has raised over $5 million which goes towards funding cutting-edge programs that will have a monumental impact on the diagnosis and treatment of brain cancer and brain tumors. Currently, VABC is funding research at several esteemed institutions including but not limited to Columbia, Duke, Harvard, John Hopkins, Memorial Sloan-Kettering, UCLA and Yale. Additionally, VABC sponsors support groups for brain tumor and brain cancer patients and caregivers. This past December, VABC held its Inaugural Join The Voices! Against Brain Cancer Run/Walk in Central Park with over 8,000 people in attendance and this spring on June 14th, VABC will hold its 7th Annual Benefit Concert Sounding Off For A Cure at The Hammerstein in New York City.
