About University of Cambridge:
This year England's University of Cambridge celebrates its 800th anniversary. For eight centuries the students, teachers, and researchers who have studied at Cambridge -- including 85 Nobel Prize winners -- have pioneered new ideas and innovations which have transformed the world and are still springing forth today, transforming tomorrow. Great minds such as Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Watson and Crick, and Stephen Hawking ... great ideas such as the circulation of blood, the laws of physics, the computer, splitting the atom, refrigeration, the jet engine, the structure of DNA ... all trace back to Cambridge. Many of these great thinkers and their ideas have spawned new technologies and new businesses. Cambridge is consistently ranked as the top university outside the U.S. -- and not just in science and technology, but also as a transforming source of innovation in music, art, literature, philosophy, and imaginative and critical thought in every field.
